The Scheme of Arrangement between National Spot Exchange Limited (NSEL), a subsidiary of 63 moons technologies, and its 5,682 Specified Creditors has been approved with 92.81% of creditors voting in favour by number and 91.35% by value. The approval follows an e-voting process ordered by the NCLT Mumbai bench, with the Scrutinizer's report dated 19.05.2025 confirming the result. Under the scheme, Rs. 1,950 crores will be paid to traders in proportion to their outstanding dues as on 31st July 2024, bringing closure to the long-pending 2013 NSEL payment crisis. In exchange, all legal cases against the 63 moons group will be closed and traders' rights will be assigned to 63 moons.
This is a positive resolution of a decade-old crisis for 63 moons, potentially removing a major overhang of legal liabilities and giving clarity to shareholders. The settlement should help in finally closing the NSEL issue that has weighed on the stock for years, though it involves a significant payout commitment of Rs. 1,950 crores.
