Acme Solar Holdings, through its wholly owned subsidiaries, has signed Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreements (BESPA) with NHPC for a total capacity of 275 MW / 550 MWh across two standalone BESS projects. The projects were won through an e-reverse auction on June 24, 2025, at tariffs of INR 2,10,000/MW/month (50 MW/100 MWh) and INR 2,22,000/MW/month (225 MW/450 MWh). The Letter of Award was received on July 8, 2025, and the BESPA was signed just 10 days later. The projects will be set up in Andhra Pradesh, with land and evacuation infrastructure provided by the customer (Andhra Pradesh DISCOM), and are expected to be commissioned within 18 months. The projects are supported by the Government of India's Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme providing up to Rs 27 lakh per MWh or 30% of project cost. This marks one of the first standalone BESS projects in Andhra Pradesh and introduces a 'BESS as a service' model.
