ACME Solar Holdings' wholly-owned subsidiary, ACME Hybrid Urja Private Limited, has secured long-term project financing of INR 3,184 crore from REC Limited for a 280 MW Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. REC will be the sole lender, with financing spread over 18 years. The project has a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with NHPC at a tariff of INR 4.64 per unit and will combine solar power with battery energy storage. The project is designed for a minimum 40% annual capacity utilisation and 90% peak-hour availability. This is REC's third FDRE financing for ACME this year, with two earlier deals covering 570 MW of capacity.
The large debt raise supports ACME's growth pipeline without immediate equity dilution, and continued lender confidence from a public-sector institution like REC signals strong project viability. For shareholders, this expands the company's under-construction capacity and locks in long-term revenue at a fixed tariff, which is positive for future cash flows.
