ACME Solar reported strong Q1 FY26 results with revenue of INR 584 crores (up 72% year-on-year), EBITDA of INR 531 crores (up 76% year-on-year) at a 91% margin, and PAT of INR 131 crores. The company commissioned 350 MW of new projects including its first 50 MW wind project, taking its operational portfolio to 2,890 MW. It secured its first standalone battery energy storage contract of 550 MWh with NHPC and placed battery orders of 3.1 GWh with Narada and Trina Energy. Under-construction portfolio stands at 4,080 MW plus 550 MWh of storage, with capex guidance of INR 12,000-14,000 crores for the year, of which INR 7,000 crores of purchase orders are already placed. Management refinanced INR 1,070 crores of debt for a 250 MW project at 8.5% (a 95 basis point reduction), bringing in new lenders like Bank of America, Standard Chartered, and India Infradebt, with current operational debt cost at 8.75% expected to reduce further as refinancing plays out.
Strong revenue and earnings growth, healthy 91% EBITDA margin, and an expanding order pipeline in solar and battery storage are positive for the stock. Focus on debt cost reduction and project execution toward the 2.2 GW commissioning target by FY27 supports long-term growth, but the high INR 12,000-14,000 crores capex requirement and BESS execution risk remain things to watch.
