Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has crossed 15,539.9 MW of operational renewable energy capacity, making it the first and only Indian company to reach this milestone, achieved primarily through greenfield projects. The portfolio includes around 11,005.5 MW of solar, 1,977.8 MW of wind, and 2,556.6 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity. AGEL added 3,309 MW in FY25 alone, the highest single-year addition by any Indian renewable energy player. The company's Khavda plant in Gujarat — the world's largest renewable energy plant planned at 30,000 MW — has already commissioned 5,355.9 MW. AGEL aims to scale up to 50,000 MW by 2030, and its current capacity can power roughly 7.9 million Indian households while offsetting about 28.6 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
This is a strong positive signal for shareholders, confirming AGEL's leadership in India's renewable energy space, rapid execution capability, and alignment with India's 500 GW non-fossil fuel target by 2030. The milestone may boost investor confidence and support the stock narrative around growth and ESG positioning, though execution of the larger 50,000 MW target remains the key forward catalyst to watch.
