Adani Power Limited has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL), has incorporated a new step-down wholly-owned subsidiary named Coastal-Maha Atomic Energy Limited (CMAEL) on April 13, 2026. The new entity will operate in the nuclear energy sector to generate, transmit, and distribute power derived from nuclear and/or atomic energy. CMAEL has been incorporated with an authorized capital of Rs. 5,00,000 divided into 50,000 equity shares of Rs. 10 each, funded through cash consideration. The entire shareholding of CMAEL is held by AAEL, which in turn is 100% held by Adani Power Limited.
This marks Adani Power's strategic entry into the nuclear energy sector, diversifying beyond its existing thermal and renewable power operations. While the initial capital investment is modest at Rs. 5 lakh, this signals the company's intent to participate in India's nuclear power expansion, which could have long-term implications for its growth pipeline.
