ICRA has assigned an ICRA AA; Stable rating to Adani Power's additional term loan facilities of Rs. 12,000 crore. The agency has also reaffirmed the ICRA AA; Stable rating on existing bank facilities of Rs. 46,000 crore and proposed Non-Convertible Debentures of Rs. 11,000 crore. The total rated facilities now stand at Rs. 69,000 crore. ICRA cited APL's market leadership, diversified asset and customer base, strong revenue visibility from capacity tie-ups, healthy operating efficiency, and a strong balance sheet as the basis for the rating. No change in rating level — the existing rating has been carried forward while new debt gets the same grade.
Positive for shareholders — a stable AA rating on a Rs. 69,000 crore debt portfolio signals continued lender confidence and supports cheaper borrowing. The new Rs. 12,000 crore facility at the same rating indicates easy access to fresh funding for growth or refinancing.
