Adani Power has received a Letter of Award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the long-term supply of 1,600 MW thermal power under a 25-year Power Supply Agreement. The company won by being the lowest-tariff bidder at Rs 5.30/kWh for the first year, with supply scheduled to begin from FY 2030-31. The power will come from one of Adani Power's upcoming ultra-supercritical thermal power projects and includes a pre-determined coal linkage for fuel security. With this win, Adani Power has now tied up 13.3 GW of long-term PSAs out of its 23.8 GW under-implementation pipeline, and has won five such bids totalling 10,400 MW during FY 25-26.
Positive for shareholders — this is a large, long-duration contract with a state-owned discom, providing strong revenue and volume visibility for 25 years. It reinforces Adani Power's position as India's largest private thermal power producer and supports its aggressive expansion plan to 41.87 GW by FY 31-32 with ~Rs 2 lakh crore investment.
