Adani Power has received a Letter of Award from MP Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL) to set up and supply power from a new 800 MW Ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh, under the DBFOO model. The company will invest about Rs 10,500 crore in the project, with a bid tariff of Rs 5.838 per unit won through a competitive bidding process. The plant must be commissioned within 54 months of the appointed date, with coal linkage allocated under the Government of India's SHAKTI Policy. This is Adani Power's fourth major power supply order in the last 12 months, after a 6,600 MW order from Maharashtra (Sept 2024), 1,600 MW from Uttar Pradesh (May 2025), and 2,400 MW from Bihar (Aug 2025). Adani Power's current installed thermal capacity stands at 18,110 MW across 12 plants.
This order strengthens Adani Power's order book and expands its capacity pipeline by roughly 4.4% (800 MW over 18,110 MW base), supporting future revenue visibility. The Rs 10,500 crore capex commitment and competitive tariff suggest healthy project economics, which should be viewed positively by shareholders as it reinforces the company's growth trajectory in the power sector.
