Add-Shop E-Retail Ltd reported Q1 FY26 revenue of ₹2,941.22 lakhs, down about 27% from ₹4,036.12 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Profit after tax fell sharply to ₹20.95 lakhs from ₹115.20 lakhs, an ~82% YoY decline, dragging EPS to ₹0.07 from ₹0.41. The big drag was an unusually high 'change in inventory' charge of ₹2,007.82 lakhs versus just ₹58.02 lakhs in Q4 FY25 and a small credit a year ago, which crushed operating margins even though purchases of stock-in-trade fell. The auditor (K M Chauhan and Associates) issued a clean, unqualified review report, and the company confirmed no loan defaults and no related-party transaction disclosures for this quarter.
Sharp drop in both sales and profits, with margins squeezed by a large inventory adjustment — a negative signal for short-term earnings momentum and a red flag worth watching on inventory quality. The clean auditor opinion and absence of debt defaults limit downside risk, but shareholders should expect weak sentiment until revenue and margins recover.
