Aditya Infotech Limited (AIL), maker of CPPLUS security and surveillance products, has formally executed a 50:50 Joint Venture Agreement with Orient Cables (India) Limited. The JV will establish a new private limited company to manufacture electric cables including LAN cables, CCTV cables, terminated assemblies, and connectors. The JV company is yet to be incorporated, with both parties contributing equally to the share capital. The manufactured products will be supplied to AIL and its affiliates as well as to Orient for resale to identified customers. The rationale is backward integration — creating dedicated cable manufacturing facilities to ensure a reliable supply chain, improve cost efficiencies, strengthen quality control, and enhance overall operational effectiveness for AIL's core security products business.
The JV is a positive strategic move enabling AIL to bring cable manufacturing in-house, reducing dependency on external suppliers and potentially improving margins on its surveillance products. The stock is not expected to react significantly to this domestic, relatively modest-sized JV, but long-term benefits on cost and supply chain reliability could be positive.
