Aelea Commodities, a Mumbai-based cashew processor and commodity trader listed on BSE SME, shared its FY25 investor presentation. Revenue grew to ₹18,213.55 lakhs from ₹14,237.27 lakhs in FY24, but profitability collapsed — EBITDA fell to ₹865.42 lakhs (margin 4.75% vs 13.90% prior year) and PAT dropped sharply to ₹115.87 lakhs (margin 0.64% vs 8.05%). Cashew processing now contributes ~74% of revenue, up from 44% in FY24, with sugar trading the rest. The company expanded capacity from 40 TPD to 140 TPD with Unit II commencing commercial production on 27th May 2025 (₹37.08 crore project). FY25 also saw ₹200 lakhs in bad debts, while inventories nearly doubled to ₹4,970.91 lakhs.
Strong top-line growth is overshadowed by severe margin compression and a 90% drop in profit, which is negative for shareholders despite the capacity expansion and improved operating cashflow (₹946 lakhs). Stock may face pressure unless new capacity translates into margin recovery.
