Ajax Engineering shared its Q1 FY26 investor presentation. Revenue from operations was nearly flat at Rs 4,665 Mn vs Rs 4,690 Mn YoY. However, profitability declined sharply: EBITDA fell 23% to Rs 614 Mn (margin down 390 bps to 13.2%) and PAT dropped 21% to Rs 529 Mn (margin down 300 bps to 11.3%), with gross margins contracting 450 bps to 25.8%. The management attributed the weakness to unseasonal rains, emission norm changes, and slower project execution, while noting that non-SLCM volumes grew 25% YoY. The company remains the SLCM market leader in India with about 69% share and is betting on exports (27.5% export revenue CAGR over FY22-25) and non-SLCM growth for the future.
Near-term pressure on margins is acknowledged, but management expects recovery via cost efficiencies and pricing, which may limit downside. Weak Q1 print combined with margin pressure guidance could weigh on the stock in the short term, though long-term structural story around mechanised concrete equipment growth (24% CAGR through FY29E) remains intact.
