Aksh Optifibre reported weak FY25 results with standalone revenue falling ~41% to Rs. 12,712 lakhs (from Rs. 21,502 lakhs in FY24). The company posted a standalone net loss of Rs. 2,011 lakhs for FY25, although this is an improvement over the prior year's Rs. 20,953 lakh loss, which included a Rs. 22,972 lakh exceptional charge. On a consolidated basis, FY25 swung to a profit of Rs. 2,597 lakhs, helped by a one-time reversal of interest expense of Rs. 1,612 lakhs related to a reclassification of its Union Bank of India (NPA) borrowings. Cash flow from operations was negative at Rs. (2,021) lakhs. The auditor issued a qualified opinion, flagging ~Rs. 2,833 lakhs of unrecognized export-related and other liabilities that, if booked, would have increased the loss by ~Rs. 1,491 lakhs. Multiple emphasis-of-matter items were raised, including FEMA delays, a SARFAESI notice from a bank, HDFC Bank's one-time settlement (partially complied), and a Rs. 3,069 lakh stamp duty demand. The Board also appointed cost and secretarial auditors, reappointed several independent directors, and approved the reclassification of a 3.70% holder from promoter group to public.
Despite the narrowed headline loss, the company remains fundamentally stressed: revenue shrank sharply, operating cash flows are negative, manufacturing segment continues to lose money, and the auditor has qualified the results. Pending bank disputes (SARFAESI, HDFC OTS, UBI NPA) and large unrecognized liabilities pose ongoing risk for shareholders.
