Alembic Pharmaceuticals has informed the exchanges that CRISIL Ratings has reaffirmed its highest short-term credit rating of CRISIL A1+ on the company's Commercial Paper programme. The rating applies to an enhanced limit of Rs. 1,100 Crore, up from the earlier Rs. 750 Crore, representing a 47% increase in sanctioned short-term borrowing capacity. CRISIL A1+ indicates a very strong degree of safety regarding timely payment of financial obligations and the lowest credit risk. The rating letter from CRISIL dated June 12, 2025, is valid for 60 days for issuance purposes, after which revalidation is required. The underlying rating remains valid for the life of the commercial paper programme, subject to a maximum maturity of one year.
The reaffirmed top-tier rating signals strong creditworthiness and unchanged financial health, while the enhanced commercial paper limit gives the company greater flexibility to raise short-term funds at favourable rates, which is mildly positive for shareholders.
