Alembic Limited posted Q1 FY26 consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 4,975 lakhs, down marginally from Rs 5,078 lakhs in Q1 FY25, dragged by a decline in its Real Estate segment (Rs 3,680 lakhs vs Rs 4,006 lakhs). The API segment, however, grew sharply to Rs 1,295 lakhs from Rs 1,072 lakhs, a roughly 21% jump. Net profit after tax (consolidated, including share of associate Alembic Pharmaceuticals) rose to Rs 6,164 lakhs from Rs 5,582 lakhs, while standalone PAT was Rs 1,712 lakhs vs Rs 1,684 lakhs. EPS came in at Rs 2.40 (consolidated) and Rs 0.67 (standalone). On the board, Mr. Udit Amin will take over as Managing Director from October 1, 2025, while current MD & CEO Mrs. Malika Amin will step down on January 1, 2026 and continue as a non-executive director. The auditor's review report carries an emphasis-of-matter note on a long-pending electricity duty dispute where Alembic has provisioned Rs 2,052 lakhs and deposited Rs 35 crore with the Supreme Court.
Mixed quarter for shareholders: real-estate weakness offset by strong API growth, while bottom-line was supported by earnings from associate Alembic Pharmaceuticals. Leadership transition appears orderly within the promoter family, and the contingent electricity-duty liability remains a watch item but is not new.
