Alkem Laboratories reported Q1 FY26 consolidated revenue of ₹33,711 million, up 11.2% year-on-year, driven by 12% growth in India sales (₹22,650 million) and 8.9% growth in international sales (₹10,539 million). EBITDA rose 21.4% YoY to ₹7,391 million with margin expanding to 21.9% from 20.1% a year earlier, supported by an improved gross margin. Net profit after minority interest grew 21.8% YoY to ₹6,643 million (margin 19.7%). The US business grew 8.8% to ₹6,982 million, with the company filing its first BLA and receiving 5 ANDA approvals during the quarter. India business outperformed the IPM by 120 bps, posting 9.7% growth versus the market's 8.5%, with strong volume growth of 2.9%. The company ended the quarter with a healthy net cash position of ₹48.7 billion.
Strong all-round performance with double-digit growth in revenue and profit, coupled with notable EBITDA margin expansion, should be viewed positively by shareholders. The management's explicit focus on EBITDA-accretive products and accelerating non-US business signals sustained margin discipline going forward.
