Alkem Laboratories reported Q3 FY26 total revenue of ₹37,368 Mn, up 10.7% YoY, driven by strong international growth of 26.6% (US +18.8%, Non-US +41.6%) while domestic sales grew a modest 5.5%. EBITDA rose 9% to ₹8,280 Mn (margin 22.2% vs 22.5% YoY) and PAT grew only 1.6% to ₹6,360 Mn, weighed down by a ₹528 Mn one-time charge from new Labour Codes. For 9M FY26, revenue grew 13.1% and PAT grew 11.1%, with the company sitting on a healthy ₹55.9 Bn net cash pile. In a major strategic move, Alkem signed a binding term sheet to acquire a majority stake in Switzerland-based Occlutech Holding AG (minimally invasive cardiac implants) through its Alkem MedTech subsidiary. Management flagged the planned March 2026 launch of its GLP-1 semaglutide as a key upcoming growth driver.
The acquisition of Occlutech marks Alkem's entry into the high-margin cardiac medical devices space and signals a meaningful diversification beyond generics, which could be received positively by the market. However, the slightly weaker YoY margin and muted single-digit domestic growth may temper near-term enthusiasm.
