Ambar Protein Industries reported Q1 FY26 revenue from operations of ₹11,411 lakhs, up about 22.6% from ₹9,304 lakhs in Q1 FY25, driven by its single edible oil manufacturing segment. However, profit after tax fell sharply to ₹74.63 lakhs from ₹172.30 lakhs a year earlier, a drop of nearly 57%, as raw material costs surged to ₹11,030 lakhs and finance costs remained elevated at ₹53 lakhs. Sequentially, both revenue and profit declined from Q4 FY25 levels of ₹11,781 lakhs and ₹248 lakhs respectively. Basic EPS fell to ₹1.30 versus ₹3.00 in the year-ago quarter, reflecting significant margin compression despite top-line growth.
Strong revenue growth failed to translate into profits, with margins under pressure from rising input costs — this is a negative signal for shareholders despite the higher topline, and the stock may react negatively given the sharp PAT contraction.
