Amco India Ltd reported Q1 FY26 results with revenue from operations rising about 11% year-on-year to Rs. 2,604.52 lakhs (from Rs. 2,344.99 lakhs in Q1 FY25). However, the company swung to a net loss of Rs. 13.90 lakhs compared to a profit of Rs. 46.57 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Raw material costs surged roughly 43% YoY to Rs. 2,537.35 lakhs, sharply squeezing margins. Earnings per share turned negative at Rs. -0.34 versus Rs. 4.56 in Q1 FY25. The only active segment, Aluminium Foil, reported a segment loss of Rs. 19.30 lakhs versus a profit of Rs. 53.27 lakhs YoY. The statutory auditor (V.V. Kale & Company) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
Despite top-line growth, shareholders should expect negative short-term sentiment due to the swing into losses and steep raw material cost pressure. Investors will want to watch whether margin recovery is visible in subsequent quarters.
