Anantam Highways Trust received credit rating updates from two agencies. India Ratings assigned a provisional IND AAA/Stable for proposed bank loan facilities of INR 24,000 million while affirming the existing rating for reduced bank loan facilities of INR 19,430.86 million (down from INR 21,571 million). ICRA similarly assigned a provisional [ICRA]AAA (Stable) for a proposed term loan of INR 2,342.91 crore while reaffirming the existing term loan rating at [ICRA]AAA (Stable) for INR 1,943.09 crore. The trust operates 13 HAM (Hybrid Annuity Model) road assets with NHAI as counterparty, generating stable annuity-based cash flows. The existing leverage stands at 42.44% in FY26, expected to remain below the 49% regulatory cap after acquiring 6 additional assets. Both agencies highlight strong DSCR coverage above 1.65-1.70x and robust cash flow pooling structure.
The AAA ratings affirmation reflects strong credit quality and stable cash flows from NHAI-backed annuities. The provisional ratings for new facilities indicate confidence in the trust's planned asset acquisitions. Shareholders can view this as a positive credit development supporting the trust's expansion plans.
