The Andhra Sugars Limited has announced the suspension of crushing operations at two of its sugar units for the 2026-27 crushing season. The units at Taduvai and Bhimadole will not operate due to non-availability of viable quantity of sugar cane. This decision was approved by the company's Board of Directors on May 30, 2026. The Taduvai unit reported a loss of Rs. 1266.77 lakhs (11.12% of total profit) and Bhimadole unit reported a loss of Rs. 198.96 lakhs (1.75% of total profit) for the financial year 2025-26. The suspension is seasonal in nature and linked to agricultural factors affecting cane supply.
This suspension is expected to reduce revenue and profit contribution from these units temporarily. However, since both units were already operating at a loss, the impact on overall company financials may be limited. The operations may resume when cane availability improves in future seasons.
