NMDC Steel Limited has appointed Shri Ashish Chatterjee as a Government Director on its Board with effect from 11th June 2025, based on an order from the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Shri Chatterjee is a 1999-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Steel, with over 25 years of administrative experience. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and is not related to any other director on the board. The other Government Nominee Director, Shri Abhijit Narendra (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel), continues on the board from his earlier appointment. The move is part of the government's representation on the PSU's board and was carried out under a co-terminus arrangement with NMDC Limited.
