ARCL Organics has settled a long-pending municipal tax dispute with Maheshtala Municipality, West Bengal covering the period 2000 to 2025. The Municipality had originally raised a tax demand of Rs. 4,92,61,115 (around Rs. 4.93 crore), which the company had appealed. The two sides have now agreed on a full and final settlement of Rs. 4,40,98,191 (around Rs. 4.41 crore), resulting in a reduction of roughly Rs. 51 lakh from the original demand. The settlement order was received on November 3, 2025, and the amount has been paid. No penalty, restriction, or further compliance action has been imposed on the company.
The settlement brings closure to a 25-year-old tax dispute at a cost roughly 10% lower than the original demand, which is mildly positive for the company. The cash outflow of about Rs. 4.41 crore is material for a small-cap company and shareholders should monitor its impact on near-term cash flows and earnings.
