Aruna Hotels Ltd reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of Rs 593.05 lakhs, up about 7.7% YoY from Rs 550.66 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Total income stood at Rs 603.79 lakhs versus Rs 553.20 lakhs a year ago. The company swung to a net profit of Rs 137.42 lakhs (EPS Rs 0.41) from a net loss of Rs 103.63 lakhs (EPS Rs -0.31) in the same quarter last year, helped by a sharp drop in total expenses to Rs 521.20 lakhs from Rs 631.06 lakhs. Profit before tax was Rs 82.59 lakhs against a loss of Rs 77.86 lakhs YoY. The auditor (Bala & Co.) issued an unmodified review report. The board also approved a new Independent Director (Ms. R. Vijayalakshmi), appointed Mr. B. Prabhakar as Secretarial Auditor for five years, re-appointed the internal auditor, and noted the retirement of Ms. Freeda Gnanaselvam Kanagiah as Independent Director.
The turnaround from loss to profit is the key positive for shareholders, though the swing partly reflects a normalisation after an unusually high Q4 FY25 finance charge. Revenue growth is modest, so the underlying earnings momentum will need to be watched in coming quarters before drawing strong conclusions about stock price direction.
