Asahi India Glass reported Q1 FY26 (standalone) total revenue from operations of Rs 1,144 crore, up about 7.6% year-on-year, but net profit fell roughly 30% to Rs 53.4 crore from Rs 76.5 crore, with EPS at Rs 2.20 vs Rs 3.15. The drop in profit was largely driven by a sharp jump in finance costs (Rs 57.7 crore vs Rs 30.7 crore) and higher depreciation. Consolidated net profit also declined to Rs 54.8 crore from Rs 76.7 crore. On the board, AGC Inc Japan's nominee Mr. Masahiro Takeda resigned effective July 31, 2025, upon his retirement from AGC, and was replaced by Mr. Kazuo Ninomiya as Non-Executive Director from August 1, 2025. Ms. Sheetal Mehta was re-appointed as Independent Director for a second five-year term from November 4, 2025. The 40th AGM was scheduled for September 10, 2025.
Mixed signals for shareholders — revenue growth is healthy but profitability took a hit from higher interest and depreciation costs, so margins are under pressure. Board changes are routine: a nominee director swap linked to parent AGC's retirement policy and an independent director re-appointment, with no governance red flags.
