Ashok Leyland reported total domestic vehicle sales of 14,242 units in April 2026, up 14% from 12,509 units in April 2025. The growth was driven primarily by LCV segment which surged 23% to 6,265 units and M&HCV trucks which rose 15% to 6,814 units. However, M&HCV bus sales declined sharply by 22% to 1,163 units domestically. Including exports, total volumes reached 14,646 units, up 9% year-on-year. The company disclosed this under SEBI Regulation 30 for monthly sales figures.
The overall volume growth of 14% domestic is positive for the stock, particularly the strong LCV and truck demand. However, the sharp decline in bus sales could signal weakness in public transport or fleet replacement demand, which investors should monitor.
