Ashok Leyland reported total sales of 14,534 domestic vehicles in May 2025, up 5% from 13,852 units in May 2024. Including exports, total sales stood at 15,484 units versus 14,682, also a 5% rise. The growth was driven by M&HCV trucks, which jumped 12% YoY to 7,466 units domestically, while LCV (light commercial vehicles) dipped 3% to 5,148 units. On a cumulative basis for April–May 2025, domestic volumes were marginally lower at 27,043 units (down 1% YoY), and domestic plus exports were nearly flat at 28,905 units. The data reflects a modest sequential pickup in May, largely led by the truck segment.
Short-term positive sentiment as May monthly volumes beat last year, particularly in the core M&HCV truck segment which is a key revenue driver.
