Ashok Leyland reported its highest-ever Q1 performance with revenue from operations of Rs 8,725 crore and record commercial vehicle volumes of 44,238 units. Standalone profit after tax rose to Rs 593 crore from Rs 526 crore in Q1 FY25, while consolidated profit after tax grew to Rs 658 crore from Rs 551 crore. EBITDA margin improved to 11.1% from 10.6% last year, with EBITDA at Rs 970 crore versus Rs 911 crore. Market share in MHCV trucks rose to 30.7% from 28.9%, and LCV volumes hit a record 15,566 units. The company ended the quarter cash positive at Rs 821 crore, and recently completed a 1:1 bonus issue in July 2025.
A record quarter with margin expansion and higher market share signals strong operating momentum. Improved profitability and positive cash position are supportive for shareholders, though standalone revenue growth was modest at around 1.5% YoY.
