Asian stocks today: Kospi, Nikkei trade mixed amid US-Iran peace talks

Asian markets traded mixed on 30 June as investors weighed fresh US-Iran peace talks and awaited the US June jobs report due Thursday. Overnight, Wall Street posted strong gains with the Dow closing at a record high of 52,182.74, the S&P 500 up 1.18 percent at 7,440.43, and the Nasdaq surging 2.07 percent led by chipmakers and technology stocks. US crude held near $70.15 per barrel and gold stayed around $4,015 an ounce, while the Bank of Japan kept its benchmark rate at 1 percent with limited market reaction.
