Associated Ceramics reported a weak third quarter with revenue from operations falling to Rs. 726.56 lakh from Rs. 935.19 lakh in the same quarter last year, a decline of about 22%. The company slipped into a loss with a profit before tax of Rs. (5.06) lakh and a net loss of Rs. (3.79) lakh, against a profit of Rs. 85.76 lakh and Rs. 65.59 lakh respectively a year ago. However, on a nine-month basis, the picture is better, with revenue up about 14.6% to Rs. 3,515.26 lakh and net profit rising nearly 19% to Rs. 226.85 lakh. The Refractory Items segment turned negative for the quarter with a loss of Rs. 13.60 lakh, while the Solar Energy segment remained profitable. The statutory auditor issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
