Astec LifeSciences Limited announced major leadership changes effective 13th April 2026. Mr. Nadir Godrej (age 75) retired and stepped down as Chairman and Director after years of service. Mr. Burjis N. Godrej resigned as Managing Director with immediate effect, citing his intention to focus on Godrej Agrovet Limited (parent company), though he will continue on the board as Non-Executive Director. The board appointed Mr. Vishal Sharma (ED & CEO-Chemicals at Godrej Industries) as new Chairman; Mr. Mathew Eipe (former Executive Director at Godrej Industries) as Independent Director; and Mr. Arijit Mukherjee (existing COO) as Executive Director & COO. All appointments are subject to shareholder approval. The board composition will now have equal split of 5 independent and 5 non-independent directors.
The retirement of long-time chairman Nadir Godrej and resignation of MD Burjis Godrej marks a significant leadership transition. Burjis moving to parent Godrej Agrovet suggests internal talent reallocation within the group. New chairman Vishal Sharma brings 30 years of chemicals experience. These changes appear structured and within the Godrej group, which may limit negative market reaction.
