Nursing staff across Aster DM's seven hospitals in Kerala went on a statewide strike from March 9, 2026, led by the United Nurses Association over wage structure revisions. The strike caused reduced occupancy and skeletal staffing, resulting in a revenue loss of approximately INR 17.69 crore between March 8 and March 13, 2026. The Kerala High Court has ordered the nurses to defer the strike until March 19, 2026, and referred the matter to mediation, leading some nurses to resume duties. Aster DM has activated contingency measures, including mobilizing nurses from its Karnataka hospitals. The company estimates additional losses of up to INR 5.33 crore if the matter is not fully resolved by March 19.
Short-term revenue hit of ~INR 17.69 crore already booked, with up to ~INR 5.33 crore more at risk. The court order provides near-term relief and limits further financial damage, but recurring labor disputes in Kerala could pose an ongoing operational risk for shareholders.
