Aster DM Healthcare and its subsidiary MIMS have completed the acquisition of a 26% stake in Oyster Green Hybrid Two Private Limited for INR 5.8 Crores. The consideration was revised down from INR 7 Crores to INR 5.8 Crores due to a reduction in the overall project cost. The investment was made in two tranches - INR 3.54 Crores on October 2, 2025, and INR 2.26 Crores on April 22, 2026. Oyster Green is engaged in building and operating solar power plants in India. The acquisition is aimed at setting up an 18 MWp captive solar power plant in Kerala to meet part of Aster and MIMS's electricity requirements through renewable sources. This is pursuant to the Electricity Act requirement that at least 26% ownership must be held by the captive user.
The completion of this acquisition secures a renewable energy source for Aster's operations, potentially reducing long-term electricity costs. The reduction in acquisition cost from INR 7 Crores to INR 5.8 Crores is a positive development for shareholders as it represents lower capital outflow for the same 26% stake.
