AU Small Finance Bank Q1 net profit jumps 37% to Rs 796 crore

AU Small Finance Bank reported a 37 percent year-on-year jump in Q1 net profit to Rs 796 crore, supported by a 32 percent surge in net interest income at Rs 2,695 crore. Pre-provision operating profit rose 9 percent to Rs 1,435 crore and net interest margin improved 47 basis points YoY to 5.9 percent, while gross NPAs eased to 2.1 percent from 2.5 percent a year earlier. The bank also elevated COO Yogesh Jain to Deputy CEO as it transitions into a universal bank.
