Aurobindo Pharma informed the stock exchanges that Mr. P. Sarath Chandra Reddy, Non-Executive Director of the company, has been discharged by the Rouse Avenue Court, New Delhi in the Delhi Liquor Policy (Excise Policy) case on February 27, 2026, along with 22 other accused. The court ruled that there was no material evidence showing Mr. Reddy participated in any conspiracy, influenced any public servant, paid or received illegal gratification, or obtained any unlawful benefit. Mr. Reddy was arrayed as Accused No. 23 in the 4th supplementary chargesheet filed by the CBI in July 2024. The court stated it could not comprehend the basis on which he was made an accused, and the discharge applies to all charges levelled by the CBI.
This is a positive and reassuring development for shareholders, as the legal cloud over a key director has been fully lifted, removing an overhang on the stock. The favourable court outcome should support investor confidence in the company's governance, though the underlying business fundamentals remain unchanged.
