Authum Investment & Infrastructure Limited has acquired an additional 8,34,082 equity shares of Star Aerospace Limited (SAL) for approximately Rs. 112 crores in cash, representing 6.63% of the expanded equity share capital. Combined with its prior holding of 7.96%, the company now holds 14.59% of SAL on a fully diluted basis. Star Aerospace, a defence manufacturing company founded in 2015, is a subsidiary of an Indian multinational group based in Dehradun and specialises in high-precision mechanical and electro-optical systems for aerospace and defence. SAL reported a turnover of Rs. 84.19 crores and EBITDA of Rs. 25.08 crores for FY25, showing strong growth from Rs. 37.13 crores in FY24. The acquisition is a non-related-party transaction, required no regulatory approvals, and aligns with Authum's strategy of diversifying into high-growth sectors.
This acquisition strengthens Authum's portfolio in the defence and aerospace sector, a high-growth area supported by the 'Make in India' initiative. The Rs. 112 crore cash deployment signals a meaningful strategic commitment, and the target's strong FY25 financials suggest potential value accretion. Shareholders may view this positively as a diversification move beyond Authum's traditional investment activities.
