AWL Agri Business (formerly Adani Wilmar) submitted its quarterly Monitoring Agency Report for Q4 FY25, prepared by HDFC Bank as the monitoring agency for its January 2022 IPO. The company raised about Rs. 3,600 crore through the IPO, earmarked for capital expenditure (Rs. 19,000 million), debt repayment (Rs. 10,589 million), strategic acquisitions (Rs. 4,500 million), and general corporate purposes (revised to Rs. 971.18 million). Out of the total Rs. 3,506 crore in net proceeds, Rs. 3,041 crore has been utilized, leaving Rs. 464.9 crore unspent. Capital expenditure is almost fully deployed, debt repayment is complete, but strategic acquisitions have seen major delays — only Rs. 163 crore of the Rs. 450 crore target has been used so far. The Board has now extended the deadline for deploying remaining funds to September 30, 2025. Unutilized funds of Rs. 440 crore are parked in fixed deposits with banks like HDFC, Indian Bank, and SMBC.
Repeated extensions for strategic acquisition spending may make investors question deployment efficiency, but the funds are safely parked in bank FDs and there are no deviations from stated objects. Likely neutral for the stock in the short term.
