Bajaj Electricals reported weak Q1 FY26 results with revenue declining 7.8% YoY to ₹1,065 Cr from ₹1,155 Cr, mainly due to early monsoon hitting summer products. Consumer Products segment fell 10.8% YoY (coolers down >40%, fans in double-digit decline), while Lighting Solutions grew 3.1%. EBIT dropped sharply by 50.9% YoY to ₹27 Cr and PAT collapsed 96.8% to just ₹1 Cr, hit by ₹7 Cr exceptional items, higher staff costs, and brand investment spend (4% of revenue vs 3.4% YoY driven by IPL campaign). EBIT margin contracted to 2.5% from 4.7% last year. The company maintains a strong cash position of ₹433 Cr and launched 434 new SKUs across product categories, with promoter holding at 62.7%.
Sharp profit decline and negative operating leverage in the core Consumer Products segment signal near-term earnings pressure; weak Q1 print and margin contraction are likely to weigh on sentiment despite strong balance sheet and new product launches.
