Bajel Projects, a Bajaj Group power infrastructure company, posted Q1 FY25-26 revenue of Rs. 607.6 crore, up 19% from Rs. 512 crore a year ago. EBITDA rose 33% to about Rs. 25 crore, with EBITDA margin improving to 4.04% from 3.58% in the same quarter last year. However, profit before tax fell 40% to Rs. 4.45 crore and net profit dropped 40% to Rs. 3.32 crore, mainly due to higher finance costs. Management highlighted successful execution of transmission line projects in Raichur, Jeypore–Jagdalpur, and Gurgaon, and said it is working on efficiency and lender partnerships to ease finance cost pressures. Figures are on a standalone basis.
Top-line growth and improving operating margins are positive signs, but the sharp 40% drop in bottom-line profit despite higher revenue signals pressure from borrowing costs, which is a watchpoint for investors. The stock may react mixed, with execution strength offset by profitability concerns.
