Balkrishna Industries (BKT) declared a 1st interim dividend of Rs. 4 per equity share (200% on face value of Rs. 2), with a record date of July 31, 2025, and total cash outgo of Rs. 77.32 crores. For Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025), standalone revenue from operations rose marginally to Rs. 2,760.46 cr from Rs. 2,689.53 cr YoY (about 2.6% growth). However, standalone profit after tax fell sharply to Rs. 287.17 cr from Rs. 477.29 cr YoY, a decline of nearly 40%. Operating margin compressed steeply to 11.49% from 18.17% in the same quarter last year, signalling cost pressure. Consolidated PAT also dropped to Rs. 288.30 cr from Rs. 489.99 cr. Statutory auditors Jayantilal Thakkar & Co. issued an unqualified limited review report on the results.
The dividend is a positive for income-focused investors, but the steep ~40% fall in profits and nearly 7 percentage point drop in operating margins, despite barely any revenue growth, points to significant cost or pricing pressure. The stock may see mixed sentiment, with the dividend providing some support but weak margins likely to draw investor concern.
