Balkrishna Industries (BKT Tires) reported FY26 standalone revenue of Rs 10,820 crore, up 4% from Rs 10,413 crore in FY25. However, profit before tax declined 25% to Rs 1,617 crore from Rs 2,156 crore in the previous year. Net profit fell to Rs 1,222 crore from Rs 1,628 crore, with EPS dropping to Rs 63.20 from Rs 84.23. The board recommended a final dividend of Rs 4 per share (200% on Rs 2 face value), subject to shareholder approval at the AGM. The company announced Rs 2,000 crore additional capex for capacity expansion including carbon black facilities (expected by FY27), passenger car radial tyres, and off-highway tyre facilities. The board also approved appointment of Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP as joint statutory auditor for 5 years and reappointed Vipul Shah as Whole Time Director for another 5-year term from February 2027.
Despite revenue growth, the 25% profit decline may create short-term pressure on the stock price. However, the Rs 2,000 crore capex investment signals confidence in future growth, and the unchanged dividend payout is positive for income-focused investors.
