Balrampur Chini Mills has concluded the Sugar Season 2025-26 with all 10 units completing crushing operations. The company crushed 104.30 Lac MT of sugarcane, a 5.2% increase from 99.16 Lac MT in the previous season. Sugar production rose to 9.68 Lac MT from 9.24 Lac MT, an increase of about 4.8% year-on-year. The net sugar recovery rate marginally declined to 9.28% from 9.32% due to higher cane diversion towards ethanol production. The company shifted more cane towards the B-heavy route (56.1% vs 51.4%) and away from C-heavy route (33.6% vs 37.9%), reflecting a strategic move towards more efficient ethanol production. Sugar sacrificed for ethanol increased to 2.04 Lac MT from 1.94 Lac MT.
This is a routine operational update with positive volume growth of about 5% in crushing and nearly 5% increase in sugar output. The slight decline in recovery rates due to higher ethanol diversion is a industry-wide trend. Overall, higher volumes are modestly positive for revenue visibility, though lower recovery rates may partially offset volume gains.
