Balrampur Chini Mills has concluded its Sugar Season 2025-26 crushing operations across all ten units. Total sugarcane crushed increased to 104.30 Lac MT from 99.16 Lac MT in the previous season, a rise of about 5%. Net sugar production increased to 9.68 Lac MT from 9.24 Lac MT year-on-year. However, overall sugar recovery rate declined to 9.28% from 9.32% previously. The company continues to divert more cane towards ethanol production, with 56.1% going via B-heavy route (up from 51.4%) and only 33.6% via C-heavy route (down from 37.9%). Sugar sacrificed for ethanol increased to 2.04 Lac MT from 1.94 Lac MT.
Higher cane crushing volumes and sugar output are positive for revenue, but declining recovery rates and increased cane diversion to ethanol suggest lower sugar yield per tonne of cane, which could moderate sugar segment margins.
