Banaras Beads Ltd reported a 19.2% decline in revenue to Rs 2,548.68 Lacs for FY26 from Rs 3,155.32 Lacs in FY25. Profit after tax fell sharply by 42.5% to Rs 177.46 Lacs compared to Rs 308.81 Lacs in the previous year. EPS dropped to Rs 2.69 from Rs 4.65. The company faced negative operating cash flow of Rs 467.60 Lacs vs positive Rs 497.26 Lacs in FY25, driven by increases in inventories (Rs 518.16 Lacs) and trade receivables (Rs 317.77 Lacs). Total borrowings increased significantly, with current borrowings rising to Rs 1,568.19 Lacs (from Rs 858.30 Lacs) and new non-current borrowings of Rs 484.72 Lacs. The statutory auditor issued an unmodified opinion. Management noted US tariff issues affecting exports have been resolved and order execution has resumed.
The significant decline in profitability and negative operating cash flow are concerning for shareholders. Increased debt levels and large working capital requirements further pressure the financial position, though the resolved US tariff issue may help revenue recovery going forward.
