Bank of Maharashtra has revised its Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rate (MCLR) effective 30th May, 2026. The overnight MCLR has been reduced from 7.65% to 7.50%, while the one-month MCLR has been increased from 8.20% to 8.30%. The three-month, six-month, and one-year MCLRs remain unchanged at 8.55%, 8.70%, and 8.85% respectively. This is a routine review of benchmark lending rates undertaken by the bank.
The mixed MCLR revision, with a rate cut on short-term overnight lending and a rate hike on one-month tenor, appears to be a tactical adjustment reflecting funding costs. This is unlikely to have a significant direct impact on the bank's stock or shareholders as MCLR revisions are regular operational matters for banks.
