CARE Ratings Ltd. has reaffirmed its rating of 'AA+ with Stable outlook' on Bank of Maharashtra's multiple bond instruments, including Basel III Tier II Bonds and Long Term Infrastructure Bonds. The reaffirmed instruments cover various existing bonds with coupon rates ranging from 7.70% to 9.20%, and also include proposed bonds worth Rs. 8,818 crore in total (Rs. 1,241 crore Tier II + Rs. 7,577 crore Infra Bonds). One bond instrument (INE457A08050, 8.70% Basel III Tier II Bond) has been withdrawn from the rating list. The verification was completed on 3rd July 2025, and the bank has shared the detailed rating rationale from CARE with the exchanges.
A reaffirmed AA+ rating with Stable outlook signals that CARE Ratings sees no change in the bank's creditworthiness or risk profile — this is a neutral-to-positive signal for existing and potential bond investors, indicating continued strong ability to meet debt obligations. There is no negative impact on shareholders as the rating has not been downgraded.
