Baroda Rayon Corporation reported its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) unaudited standalone results with revenue from operations of ₹2,236 lakhs, more than doubling from ₹1,049 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Total income stood at ₹2,255.82 lakhs versus ₹1,184.19 lakhs year-on-year. Net profit for the quarter was ₹710.23 lakhs, up about 13% from ₹630.44 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Basic EPS rose to ₹3.10 from ₹2.75. The real estate segment (sale of plots and industrial units) drove virtually all of the revenue, as the textile segment has remained shut since August 2008. No exceptional items were recorded in the quarter. The statutory auditor (Kansariwala & Chevli) issued an unmodified limited review report, and the company noted it has no tax liability due to unabsorbed depreciation and carried-forward business losses.
Strong revenue growth driven by the real estate segment is a positive signal for shareholders, but profit growth is modest in comparison, indicating margin pressure from rising costs. Investors should note the company's earnings depend almost entirely on one segment and that past losses continue to shield it from paying taxes.
