Benares Hotels Limited (part of the Taj Group, operator of Taj Ganges in Varanasi) held its 54th AGM on August 12, 2025, via video conference from 3:00 PM to 4:05 PM. All 4 ordinary resolutions were passed with the requisite majority, with voting participation of about 58.5% (760,744 votes polled out of 1,300,000 shares). The resolutions covered: adoption of audited FY25 financial statements, declaration of dividend on equity shares for FY ended March 31, 2025, re-appointment of Mr. Beejal Desai (DIN: 03611725) who retires by rotation, and appointment of secretarial auditors. Resolutions 1 and 2 received 100% approval, while resolutions 3 and 4 received 99.9995% approval (4 dissenting votes each out of over 760,000). The Chairman described FY 2024-25 as a landmark year for the company, noting strong financial performance, and mentioned that the Taj brand was once again rated India's Strongest Brand. He also paid tribute to the late Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata, Chairman Emeritus of the company.
