Bengal & Assam Company Limited has published a notice in Financial Express (English) and Aajkal (Bengali) on 10th July 2025, informing shareholders about the upcoming transfer of their equity shares to the IEPF Authority. As per Section 124(6) of the Companies Act, 2013, shares whose dividend for FY 2017-18 has remained unclaimed for 7 or more consecutive years will be moved to the IEPF. Individual notices have already been sent to affected shareholders at their last known addresses, and the full list is available on the company's website (www.bengalassam.com). Shareholders who want to keep their shares must claim the unclaimed dividend on or before 27th August 2025, failing which the shares will be transferred to the IEPF Authority without further notice. Shareholders can later reclaim shares by filing Form IEPF-5 on the IEPF website. The company has also reminded physical shareholders to update their KYC details with the Registrar (Alankit Assignments Limited).
This is a routine regulatory compliance filing and does not impact the company's operations or financials. Shareholders who have not claimed dividends since FY 2017-18 risk losing ownership of their shares if they do not act before 27th August 2025.
